San Francisco Renewal: People, Programs and Investments

In the two-year hiatus since PCBC was last held in San Francisco, the city has made a significant commitment to bringing attendees back with the highest levels of safety and cleanliness, both inside and outside the Moscone Center.

Take a look at the initiatives currently underway to make the City by the Bay, once again, the world’s most compelling destination.

Community Ambassador Program - a two-year investment that utilizes retired SFPD officers to provide enhanced safety and a welcoming street presence downtown and throughout key tourism destinations seven days a week. In addition to serving as friendly, welcoming greeters, their role includes directions, translation, welfare checks and immediately reporting suspicious or criminal activity. Community Benefit Districts - over $10m has been issued to improve the overall quality of life in and around the Moscone Center, as well as the neighboring mixed-use communities, through a partnership between the City and local districts.

CleanCorridorsSF Program - a permanently instituted organization that deploys San Francisco Public Works street cleaners to a different neighborhood commercial district each day of the week to power wash and sweep the sidewalks, flush down the roadway, and wipe out graffiti—a coordinated deep-cleaning blitz resulting in noticeable improvements to the cleanliness of the downtown experience.

Community Youth Center Power Wash Mobile Team - a new program that employs immigrants with barriers to employment in steam-cleaning commercial corridors, the CYC Power Wash Mobile Team currently provides new monthly cleaning in and around the Moscone Center and downtown San Francisco neighborhoods.

Downtown Streets Team - a team focused on restoring dignity, inspiring hope, and providing a pathway to recover from homelessness in San Francisco, including community beautification efforts and clean-up projects in and around the Moscone Center.

Street Crisis Response Team - a city-wide crisis team that provides rapid, trauma-informed response to calls for service to people experiencing crisis in public spaces.

Street Wellness Response Team - a group who provides appropriate medical and social service responses for people who require immediate assistance but do not have emergent behavioral health care needs.

Shine On SF - an organization making immediate investments and sustainable changes to clean and beautify San Francisco.
