Speaker Highlights

Richard Green
is a leading expert on housing markets, housing policy, mortgage finance, and urban growth. He serves as director of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate and a consultant to the World Bank. Dr. Green’s writing is taught at universities throughout the country, and his work appears in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, and the Economist.

Jan Sramek,
founder and CEO of California Forever, has a bold vision for a new, sustainable, 400,000-person city on 27 square miles of Solano County, bridging San Francisco and Sacramento. Raised in a small village in the Czech Republic, Sramek became enchanted with the promise of California. Now he’s working passionately to bring that vision to life and generate much-needed housing and jobs for the region—while battling the policies and red tape that created the shortfalls in the first place.

Mary Teichert is CEO of Teichert Inc., a fifth-generation family business founded in 1887, holder of California State Contractor’s License #8. With an MBA from Harvard Business School, she worked at Bain & Co. and Apple before joining Teichert, where her experience includes plant management, material sales, estimating, project management, and division leadership roles prior to her becoming COO in 2013, president in 2020, and CEO in 2025.

Peter Zeihan
, one of our most popular and buzz-generating past speakers, is back by popular demand to help make sense of the geopolitical storm shaping our world—military conflict, power shifts, political and economic uncertainty, tariffs, supply chains and more.

Zeihan is the bestselling author of four highly acclaimed books and a consultant to corporations, governments, investors and NGOs. Always insightful and irreverent, he’ll explore the massive shifts playing out before us and share strategies for “Getting Through the End of the World.”

As one of the most powerful women on Wall Street, Ivy Zelman is a sought-after expert on the housing sector, and what the overall housing market means for investors, homebuilders, industry executives and the economy at large. She is widely known for her bold thinking and accurate assessments where others failed, helping industry players avoid costly mistakes and capture game-changing opportunities.

As Michael Lewis writes in The Big Short, in housing, “all roads lead to Ivy.”

Cal Newport
is a productivity expert and bestselling author who writes about the intersections of technology, work, and finding depth in an increasingly distracted world. At the center of his study is the idea that our modern understanding of productivity is all wrong. Rather than working toward consistent high-quality output, we’ve placed performative busyness on a pedestal.

At Leader-to-Leader, he’ll help us develop the focus and discipline to do truly meaningful work that moves our companies—and our lives—forward.

Patti Poppe
is CEO of PG&E Corporation, the first female executive to serve as CEO two Fortune 500 companies, having previously led CMS Energy. Taking over as CEO amid PG&E’s 2021 crisis following the Dixie Fire, Poppe was faced with the challenge of rebuilding employee and customer trust in the face of negative press and feedback.

By employing her own philosophy of “leading with love,” she emphasized community and invested in the workers who had stayed with the company through its darkest times.

John Burns
is one of housing’s foremost analysts. Nearly 750,000 people follow his LinkedIn influencer column, and he regularly appears on national TV and in major media outlets discussing market forecasts, consumer research, demographic shifts, and trend analysis. He is the coauthor of the bestselling book Big Shifts Ahead.

Drawing on his firm’s deep well of research and analysis, Burns will share his outlook for the economy, housing markets, and the obstacles and opportunities ahead for the industry.

Chad Sanschagrin is an entrepreneur, bestselling author, and executive coach who empowers leaders and teams to reach their full potential. In his USA Today bestseller Keep Telling Yourself, he helps readers create a better life by focusing on who they want to become instead of what they want to achieve. No matter how you want to improve—as a leader, parent, spouse or more—Chad will reveal the power of the stories we tell ourselves and how to reclaim your narrative.

Leader-to-Leader program facilitator Tim Sullivan has more than 36 years’ experience in analyzing and valuing real estate development opportunities across the U.S. and Latin America—with an ability to interpret diverse statistics and trends and translate them into actionable plans. Tim’s personal commitment to his clients is to constantly assess the economy, real estate market, and consumer trends to identify the most innovative and best ways to invest and develop profitably.
