Staff Recommendations

Just like you, our team loves the classic San Francisco landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, Alcatraz, Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf.

But there’s more to the City than these classics—here are our recommendations for what to explore before or after your PCBC experience!

Fourth Street BerkeleyFourth Street, Berkeley, Recommended by Ann Bivens, Exhibits Director
If you need a break from city life, head across the Bay. Fourth Street in Berkeley is the perfect place to unwind while mindlessly wandering around shops and restaurants with a neighborhood vibe. Plus, most days you can enjoy live music performed outside coffee shops. I love nature so I would head to the Botanical Gardens, Tilden Park or the Berkeley Marina with park space, trails and picnic areas. Enjoy!

Muir WoodsMuir Woods, Recommended by Mike Sturdivant, Conferences Director
It’s time for your wonder to wander. Escape the confinement of the city and spend the day walking among the towering old growth redwood trees. Muir Woods is regularly covered in a coastal marine layer fog, contributing to a wet environment that encourages vigorous plant growth. Wildlife residents include the Pacific wren, woodpeckers, owls, deer, skunks, river otters, and more. Explore, relax and reinvigorate.

Alameda Point Antiques FaireAlameda Point Antiques Faire, Recommended by Kim DeWeese, Operations Director
The largest antiques show in Northern California happens the first Sunday of every month--perfect timing for you to stick around after PCBC! As a 2nd generation Alamed-ian, this event is near to my heart. It's an amazing Antique Faire and rated one of the best flea markets in America by Architectural Digest. Held on the (former) Alameda Navy Base, the small island offers gorgeous, direct views of San Francisco!

Walt Disney Family MuseumThe Walt Disney Family Museum, Recommended by Sara Turner, Exhibitor Services Specialist
Anaheim isn’t the only spot in California to get your Disney fix! And this museum has it all: art, history, pop culture, and shopping. Whether you’re a Disney superfan like me or you love to explore new places, then check out this beautiful museum. Located in the Presidio with views of the Golden Gate Bridge, you'll get $3 off general admission when you show your PCBC attendee badge at the ticket desk!

SausalitoSausalito, Recommended by Kevin Coyle, Registration/Operations Coordinator
It’s one thing to have a home with views of the water – it’s another to actually live on the water. Sausalito is home to one of the most unique houseboat communities on the West Coast. Within its harbors, you can find everything from simple minimalist dwellings to multi-story vacation homes. But the most intriguing and historic quality is the free-spirited, Bohemian-artist neighborhoods. Plan your visit here.

SFMoMASFMoMA, Recommended by Julianne Sturdivant, Marketing and Media Partnerships
Just a few steps from Moscone, this gorgeous museum is a respite from your busy schedule. Open, bright, and inspiring, the seven floors of SFMoMA are filled with some of the best art in the world and a 30-foot Living Wall. Plus, get $4 off the entrance fee when you show your attendee badge at the ticket counter. Check out their current exhibitions and make plans to include this on your PCBC experience!
